NIH Data Management and Sharing (DMS) Policy Webinar Series Part 2

The NIH Office of Science Policy (OSP) and the Office of Extramural Research (OER) invite you to join them for an informative webinar series focused on the new NIH Data Management and Sharing (DMS) Policy which goes into effect on January 25, 2023. This policy reinforces NIH’s longstanding commitment to making the research it funds available to the public and sets the baseline expectation that sharing data is a fundamental component of the research process.

Registration is required separately for each webinar.

  • Thursday, August 11; 1:30 – 3:00 PM EST
    Understanding the New NIH Data Management and Sharing (DMS) Policy
    In this first webinar of the series, you will learn about DMS policy expectations, the applicability of the policy, how to prepare a Data Management and Sharing Plan, and considerations for sharing data responsibly.

    Diving Deeper into the New NIH Data Management and Sharing Policy
    In this second webinar of the series, we will expand upon the information presented in the first webinar and dive deeper into topics including privacy protections for data from human participants and justifiable limitations on sharing data.

NSF Convergence Accelerator Request for Information – Webinar

Requesting Future Topics for the NSF Convergence Accelerator

Learn about the Dear Colleague Letter (NSF 22-021) /Request For Information (DCL/RFI) and the program’s ideation process. Attendees will learn about the Convergence Accelerator’s model and fundamentals, designed to leverage a convergence approach to transition basic research and discovery into practice. The NSF will explain how the Convergence Accelerator’s ideation process is an opportunity to think big to address current and future national and societal challenges. This enables participants to shape their topic ideas around the NSF’s criteria and will help guide their experience in the ideation phase of the program.

NSF is offering the webinar on two days to accommodate researchers and innovators from all fields:

January 25, 2022, from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. ET

If you cannot attend, but would like to submit an idea, you can submit your ideas here and complete the online questionnaire no later than February 28, 2022. While completing the questionnaire, select the “email contact” field to enable a courtesy copy of your response to be sent to your Authorized Organizational Representative or institutional leadership, to ensure the university’s awareness of your RFI submission.
