Are you an inventor interested in protecting your ideas, products or process? Would you like to explore the state of the art regarding research and innovation in a particular field? Join us for an information session to learn about patents as a type of Intellectual Property Protection, and their role in the research and innovation process. Basic definitions and examples will be shared with participants, together with a general description of the lifecycle of patents. FAQs about patents will also be part of the session.
Patricia Verdines is an Engineering Librarian since January 2024, and together with other two subject librarians, serves the Patent, Trademark and Resource Center (Welcome – Patent and Trademark Resource Center (PTRC) – Research Guides at Ohio State University) at Ohio State University Libraries. Before joining OSU Libraries, she served many years as a faculty member supervising undergraduate and graduate students conducting industry sponsored Capstone Projects at the College of Engineering in a private technical university in Mexico. She holds a BS in Information Systems Engineering from Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon, Mexico; a Master’s in Information Engineering from the University of Tokyo, Japan; and a PhD in Information Science from the University of Maryland College Park.
