Power Analysis 101

Presented March 21, 2014

A great workshop for quantitative researchers about power analysis. This is becoming increasingly important, both for some federally funded grant programs, as well as for some publication outlets. An important use of power analysis is in determining what a sufficient sample size should be for a planned study. This workshop covers the definition of power, the types of power (planned vs. post hoc), what determines power and the importance of power in the design and conduct of quantitative research. Presenters also shareseveral examples demonstrated with the G*Power freeware package.
