The Office of Knowledge Enterprise’s BIIG Collaborations is a series of activities designed to provide faculty with the resources and support needed to establish and cultivate collaborations across disciplines, and explore innovative research questions. The program kicks off with two events to begin to forge collaborative interdisciplinary teams seeking to innovate around a common research theme. Teams can also apply for an Interdisciplinary Innovation Team Development Award that provides up to $5,000 to further define and refine budding interdisciplinary collaborations that are poised to tackle complex problems. Team Science Workshop (Virtual)
As research becomes more interdisciplinary, it is crucial that researchers are able to work effectively with investigators, colleagues, and others from other disciplines. “Team Science” is the study and application of principles and strategies to develop, lead, and manage groups of people as part of a research project/team. This series of online workshops will focus on preparing post-doctoral researchers to both participate in and lead interdisciplinary research teams. Participants will learn how to develop a team collaboration plan that can serve as a template for building systems in their future labs and for multi-PI and leadership plans for future grant proposal. The sessions will be a mix of short didactic and interactive activities, with the goal of increasing participants’ knowledge of and comfort with engaging in Interdisciplinary Research and Team Science.
International Collaborations: Policies, Processes, & Partnerships Webinar
Whether you are from a domestic institution considering partnering with an overseas research organization or you are an international researcher working through the grant application process, this event will provide you with valuable tools, policies, and guidance. Administrative and programmatic aspects of the application process will be shared, as well as considerations for building a partnership.

GRO Ideation Workshops – Information Session
The Ohio State Office of Knowledge Enterprise (OKE) invites proposals from interdisciplinary teams interested in GROwing new ideas through facilitated team Ideation Workshops. These workshops help research teams hone their ideas and then develop strategies and action steps to pursue external funding. As part of a larger set of Growing Research Opportunities (GRO) programs, these workshops foster intellectually diverse, collaborative research across academic domains, catalyze new scholarly pursuits, and help generate compelling, future, external funding proposals.
