Even with the best intentions, research doesn’t always go as planned, and when something does go wrong investigators may be required to report to the Institutional Review Board (IRB). The Office of Responsible Research Practices is offering an educational session on when to notify the IRB about unexpected events, noncompliance concerns, or other problems. At the end of the session, attendees will be able to:
- Differentiate between investigator, sponsor, and IRB reporting requirements,
- Describe the Ohio State event reporting process, and
- Explain definitions using case examples.
While the session will be tailored to medical researchers and research staff, anyone preparing IRB submissions is encouraged to attend. The session will be held on Tuesday, April 25th, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. via CarmenZoom.
